Welcome to this month’s newsletter.
Firstly we would like to thank the families that attended the Resident and Families meeting on Friday 25th April. Was great to see some new faces, we rely on the support and feedback you give us to make Woodbine Manor the best home possible. Our next meeting will be in June where we will be able to update you on our home improvements amongst other topics.

We hope you all had a peaceful and restful Easter. We celebrated with a delicious Sunday lunch, an Easter egg hunt and we were entertained by Kerry and Sue who had us up dancing and singing along to a medley of memory music. All of the residents received an Easter egg which was enjoyed watching a film.
Let’s hope the sunny weather returns in time for the bank holidays in May. Please give us a follow and like on our social media account, spread the word to family and friends. We love sharing the photo’s of our residents enjoying themselves. 📘 Facebook | 📸 Instagram
In April, we spent lots of time during Gardening Club, planted sweetcorn, runner beans as well as lots of flowers. The sunflowers are starting to grow fast and have the potential to be very tall. The planter has been cleared ready for all the established plants, the planter is a great height for the residents to work at.

The residents enjoyed meeting George and Ivy the sensory bunnies, some stroked and patted them while they sat in their carriage others where brave enough to hold them on their laps, they were so gentle. They also visited the residents who were in their rooms, spreading joy around the home.
During Baking Club we made salt dough Easter shapes, when they had dried we painted them in bright colours. The chocolate nests where delicious, very popular with the residents and staff. As the weather has been very warm and sunny we have been spending more time in the garden.

YOU ASKED WE DELIVERED!
Yes! Great news air conditioning ❄️ will be fitted in the dining room and much to the delight of the staff in the kitchen. Making for a much more comfortable dining experience. Menu’s are being revised to suit the season, we have asked the residents and families to fill in a menu choice questionnaire. A meeting with the kitchen team has been scheduled for mid May to finalize the new menu. Please return any completed questionnaires to the office. Thank you! 🥗🍲
HOME IMPROVEMENTS
As you’ve likely noticed, our improvement projects are very much in motion—and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We know things might look a little “shabby chic” during the process, but we promise it will be worth the wait. We kindly ask for your patience as we work towards transforming our home into Something truly special.
Over the past month, here’s what we’ve been up to:
- All signage has been removed from the walls in preparation for a fresh coat of paint. We hope you had a chance to vote for your favourite colour!
- New garden sofas and an all-season gazebo have been ordered. These stylish additions will look fantastic in the garden and pair beautifully with the upgraded decking.
- Plans are well underway to enhance the layout at the front of the building, improving both appearance and functionality.
We’ve carefully selected teams of skilled tradespeople to help us bring this vision to life, all while keeping disruptions to residents to an absolute minimum.
This is just the beginning of making our home even better! 🏡
