June Highlights
It’s been a busy and joyful month full of fun and meaningful activities.
🌿 Gardening Club has been hard at work — not only keeping their produce well-watered during the sunny spell, but also potting plants to brighten up their rooms.
🍴 Cooking Club created some delicious savoury treats, from classic sausage rolls to cheesy Marmite straws — all a big hit!
🎻 We were treated to a wonderful live performance by Mark, a talented local violinist. Residents enjoyed it so much, he’s already booked for a return visit in September!
💙 Carers Week gave us the chance to celebrate our amazing team. We shared cupcakes, gave out thank-you gifts, and residents made heartfelt cards to show their appreciation for all the love and care our staff give every day.
🏡 Care Home Open Week was a great success! In partnership with Glad to Care, we opened our doors to the community, shared our activities on social media, and took part in live online events like Motivational Monday (an energising exercise session) and Tune It Up Tuesday (a toe-tapping music hour).
The highlight? A sunny visit from Mrs. Whippy and her pink ice cream van — the sound of the chimes brought back fond memories and the ice cream was enjoyed in the garden under our lovely new gazebo.
You Asked, We Delivered!
We know how important it is to feel connected to our team — friendly, familiar faces who are always here to help. We’re proud to share that we haven’t used any agency staff for eight weeks!
Building a strong, committed team is one of our core values, helping us deliver consistently high-quality care.
Home Improvements Update
There’s been lots of progress around the home:
- Our new gazebo and garden furniture have been a big hit — just in time for the sunshine!
- The new nook/library area is offering a quiet space to read and relax.
- New flooring is nearly finished, and the lighter corridors already make a big difference.
- Back garden landscaping starts next week.
- A new front door will be installed on 11th July.
🚧 Our main passenger lift is currently out of order. A new lift is on the way, with a timeline of around 16 weeks. In the meantime, a temporary stairlift has been fitted at the front stairs, and a permanent one will be installed on 20th July. We’ll keep you posted on progress.
