Woodbine Manor Newsletter-February 2026

Welcome to this month’s newsletter
Firstly, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended the recent Residents and Families Meeting. We truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to join us. Although the meeting took place a little later than originally planned, your patience and understanding meant a great deal, and it was absolutely wonderful to see so many of you there. Our next meeting will be held in April, and we very much look forward to seeing you there and continuing these important conversations together.

What a fun month February has been!
It has been a very busy month celebrating lots of special occasions. Our arts and crafts clubs have been working hard creating beautiful decorations to brighten and decorate the home. Our talented chefs have also been busy in the kitchen, preparing delicious pancakes and a tasty Chinese meal for everyone to enjoy. The residents especially enjoyed making their own pancakes on a hot plate under the watchful eye of Ray. The fresh aroma filled the home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Geoff entertained us for the afternoon with his delightful accordion performance, bringing much joy, while Kerry and Sue wowed us with a romantic performance for Valentine’s Day, and we were also pleased to welcome three students studying Health and Social Care at Chichester College for a week’s work experience.
Shay delighted everyone with his very popular Country and Western set, performing a range of classic and well-loved tunes that had everyone tapping their feet. The residents joined in the fun by wearing cowboy hats, which added a playful and immersive touch, creating a truly lively and authentic atmosphere that brought smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon.

What’s happening in March
We’re delighted to welcome Emily, who joins us offering luxury manicures the perfect treat or thoughtful gift for Mother’s Day. There’s also lots of excitement as we look forward to the arrival of the ducklings, a sure sign that spring has truly sprung!
Plus, we’re thrilled to introduce new performers to our line-up, alongside some of your familiar favourites. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful month, we can’t wait to share it with you!

You asked, we delivered
Residents felt that a designated TV area would work better during activity times, reducing noise and disruption for those who enjoy watching television. We have now created a dedicated TV area with comfortable seating and improved lighting to ensure the screen is clearly visible. So far, this change has been very well received by everyone. A second television will be available as a mobile unit to support picture quizzing activities and other group sessions.

Home improvements
Unfortunately, we recently experienced another leaking pipe in the main corridor. We are pleased to report that the issue was addressed promptly, and repair works were carried out quickly and efficiently. We appreciate everyone’s patience while the matter was resolved and will continue to monitor the area to help prevent any future occurrences. Thank you for your understanding.

We are carrying out additional home improvements, including adding a downstairs wet room with toilet facilities and repainting the exterior of the property to refresh its appearance.

Thank you for being such an important part of our care home family. Your love, support, and involvement mean the world to our residents and to our team. We are so grateful to walk alongside you in caring for your loved ones, and we look forward to creating many more special moments together in the weeks ahead.

With Warmth and Appreciation,

The Woodbine Manor Team
