We’re already halfway through the year – can you believe how fast it’s gone? This August, we’ll be taking a look back at some of the best moments from the year so far on our social media pages. We’ll also be sharing our latest pictures and activities – please take a look and feel free to share them with your family and friends!

During July, we’ve embraced some classic British summertime traditions – from watching Wimbledon to enjoying strawberries and cream in the sunshine. A big thank you to Goodwood and the Festival of Speed for the fabulous Red Arrows display over the weekend – it was a treat to watch (and hear!) them fly over as we relaxed in the garden.
The British weather, as always, kept us on our toes – one minute it was sunshine, the next heavy showers and thunder! We had more than one dash to rescue the new garden cushions from the rain.
We’ve also been thoroughly entertained this month. Our performers had us dancing and singing along to memory-evoking tunes. Sharron’s fashion show took us on a nostalgic journey through the eras with her many costume changes – many residents fondly remembered owning similar outfits themselves.
We may have made our best bake yet – a fabulous Victoria sponge that would surely earn a Star Baker award from The Great British Bake Off! Our homemade chocolate bark both looked and tasted amazing. We’re already thinking ahead and planning our Christmas cake!
Our August planner is full of exciting events to look forward to. We’ll be enjoying a Luxury Nail Pamper Morning where residents can relax and feel truly treated. There will also be an Ale Tasting Session, offering the chance to sample and discuss a variety of flavours. And of course, we’re all eagerly anticipating our Summer Garden Party, which promises to be a highlight of the season.

You Asked, We Delivered!
At our recent Residents and Families Meeting, a request was made for a larger print version of the social planner. We’re pleased to say this was actioned the very next day and distributed to residents – thank you for the feedback!
Residents have also been enjoying a glass of alcohol-free wine or beer with their lunchtime meals. The addition of old-style wine glasses and half-pint beer glasses has been warmly received and has sparked some lovely table conversations.
Home Improvements Update
We’ve been busy making enhancements around the home. The new flooring in the main corridors has now been completed, giving the space a fresh and updated feel. We’ve also refreshed the dining room with a new dresser, smart tablecloths, and added luxury cushions to the sun lounge for extra comfort.
Our brand-new front door has been installed, offering a much more welcoming entrance as we prepare for the next phase of improvements – updating the fencing, garden, and parking areas.
We’re looking forward to another month filled with fun, friendship, and sunshine (hopefully!).
