Welcome to this Month’s Newsletter!
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who attended our fabulous Garden Party! It was a tremendous success – delicious food, laughter, dancing, and of course, amazing company. At Woodbine Manor, we truly know how to throw a party!
We also had a wonderful turnout at our recent Residents and Families Meeting. We really value these moments to share our achievements, updates on home improvements, and future plans. Just as importantly, it’s a great opportunity to hear from you – your feedback and suggestions are always welcome and appreciated.
Our next meeting will be held on Friday, 31st October – we hope to see many of you there!
August Highlights 🌞
What a fantastic month August turned out to be!
The Garden Party was spectacular – don’t forget to check out our social media for some wonderful photos.
One of the month’s highlights was spending time with the children from Dizzy Ducklings Preschool. Painting, blowing bubbles, and playing games – our residents absolutely loved the visit!
We were also treated to a pampering session by Emily from Rosebuds Beauty Company, with some residents enjoying luxurious manicures. Emily will be visiting again closer to Christmas, and she offers lovely birthday and festive packages if you’re looking for gift ideas for your loved ones.
Shay got everyone up and dancing with his upbeat medley of country and western hits – we had a rootin’ tootin’ good time!
With the sunny weather, we’ve been spending plenty of time in the garden, enjoying tea, ice cream, and good conversation.
🎂 We celebrated a very special birthday – one of our dear residents turned 102! She enjoyed a horse-themed tea party with her family and a fabulous homemade birthday cake to mark the occasion.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team, who went above and beyond to make the day truly memorable. Special thanks to Faye for baking the incredible cake, and to Kelly, who even dressed up in costume to bring a smile to the birthday girl’s face. Moments like these are what make Woodbine Manor so special.
Looking Ahead: September
We have a bumper-packed activities calendar this month, including all our regular clubs and exciting events. We’re especially looking forward to performances by Regis Rhythms and Mark the Violinist, whose wide repertoire is always a hit with our residents.
You Asked, We Delivered!
Our new front door has been warmly received – it’s fresh, inviting, and adds a lovely first impression. Some families mentioned missing our beautiful wreaths – they’ll be back soon once the new hook arrives!
Home Improvements Update 🏡
August has been a busy month of progress:
- The final coat of paint has been applied in the lounge, dining room, and corridors.
- Our new lounge carpet looks fabulous, and we’ve added six new armchairs to create more cozy and personal seating areas.
- The back stair lift has now been installed. We’ll be keeping the front stair lift until the new passenger lift is fitted – work for this is scheduled to begin in September.
- We’ve also started updating the approach to the home, aiming for a sleek new look while keeping the homely charm we all love.
- The new call bell system has been delayed slightly and is now set to be installed in the first week of September.
- The new blinds for the ceiling windows in the lounge will also be fitted next month.
As we complete some of the larger projects, we’ll be turning our attention to resident bedrooms to ensure everyone continues to enjoy a comfortable and personalized space.
