Welcome to this month’s newsletter
A warm welcome to our April newsletter. With spring in the air, we’re enjoying brighter days, fresh flowers, and lots of smiles around the home. Thank you to all our family and friends for your continued support it means so much to our residents and team. Thank you for reading and for being such an important part of our community. We look forward to sharing more happy moments with you this month.

🌟What a fun month April has been! 🌟
What a fun month April has been, giving us cherished moments of joy, happiness, and laughter. Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm during our visiting ducklings experience. We’ve had so many visitors, and the ducklings absolutely loved all the cuddles! We are already planning to have them again next year, and we can’t wait to welcome even more visitors for another wonderful duckling experience. 🐥
This month we’ve been treated to some truly amazing entertainers. Tickled Pink delighted us with their performance of Rags to Riches, while Shay had everyone foot-tapping along to his lively country and western set. We were also thrilled to welcome back Regis Rhythms, who returned with a bang and didn’t disappoint!
As part of our programme, we regularly engage in group quizzes, interactive discussions, and a range of club activities that encourage teamwork and active participation.

🌟What’s happening in May🌟
Come and join us for a wonderful morning as we celebrate VE Day together. We’re delighted to welcome Nicole from The Wrens, who will be performing a live vocal set to start the day – featuring a selection of well loved classics and uplifting songs to bring back the spirit of the era and get everyone in the mood for celebration.
We’ll also be supporting mental health awareness with a ‘Wear Something Green’ day, alongside a luxury cake trolley for everyone to enjoy. This is an opportunity to highlight the importance of open conversations and to remind everyone that support is always available – you are not alone. We look forward to celebrating together.
Jonathan is joining us with a lively acoustic ukulele set, bringing bright, feel-good tunes that are guaranteed to get your feet tapping and hands clapping. Expect plenty of familiar favourites and easygoing singalong moments that’ll have everyone smiling.
And don’t miss Tony, bringing the magic with his fabulous puppet antics and a show packed with laughs, surprises, and a touch of wonder for all ages! So much to look forward to!

You asked we delivered
At our last Residents and Families Meeting, held on Friday 10th April, feedback was received regarding the timing and frequency of these meetings. It was suggested that we review when they are held, including varying the day, time, and how often they take place. Currently, meetings are scheduled every other month on a Friday at 11:00am. We have sent out a questionnaire via email to gather your preferences. Paper copies are also available from the office. Thank you to those families who have already completed and returned their questionnaires. An evaluation will be carried out, and we will keep you informed on how we plan to move forward.

Home improvements
The work on our downstairs wet room has been completed to an excellent standard, and we are extremely pleased with the luxury finish. The inclusion of a touch mirror and shaver plug adds both style and practicality, and it has already become a valuable addition to our home. The finishing touches to the signage around the home are also now complete, providing clear instructions about your surroundings and, in an emergency, clear guidance for visitors and professionals.
Additionally, the flint wall beside the home has been undergoing careful repairs this month, preserving a beautiful example of traditional craftsmanship. The work has been carried out to an exceptional standard, and the result is truly stunning – an amazing job that really honours the character and heritage of the property.

That brings us to the end of this month’s edition of our newsletter. We appreciate you taking the time to read along and stay informed with us. There’s plenty more to come, and we’re excited to share new updates, stories, and opportunities with you soon. Wishing you a wonderful month ahead – see you in the next issue!
Warm Wishes
The Woodbine Manor Team
