As we head into summer, we’re delighted to share our latest news, updates, and upcoming events with you. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for being part of our community. We hope you enjoy this month’s edition and wish you a happy and sunny July!

🌟 What a fun month June has been! 🌟
June was filled with community spirit, celebration, and plenty of excitement. We were proud to celebrate our wonderful local community and the many people who make it such a special place. During Carers Week, we took time to recognise and thank the dedicated carers who provide support, kindness, and companionship every day. Their hard work and commitment make a real difference, and it was a pleasure to celebrate the important role they play in our lives.
Football fever also took hold as the 2026 World Cup got underway! Residents had great fun designing football shirts and flags, and our friendly sweepstake sparked lots of discussion as everyone picked their favourite teams.
We were delighted to welcome visitors during Care Home Open Week, giving us the opportunity to showcase our home, connect with the local community, and enjoy a range of activities together. A lively penalty shoot-out brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition, helping to create a fantastic atmosphere for all.
Alongside our fantastic performers, who entertained us throughout the month, our gardening club has been busy caring for their vegetables and preparing beautiful hanging baskets for Bognor in Bloom. Their hard work is certainly paying off, and everything is looking wonderful.
It has been a month full of creativity, friendship, appreciation, and community spirit, and we look forward to bringing even more enjoyable moments throughout the summer.

🌟 What’s Happening in July 🌟
July is shaping up to be another exciting month, filled with fun activities and special events for everyone to enjoy. We are particularly looking forward to a visit from The Little Hoof Company, who will be bringing their friendly Shetland ponies to meet our residents. These visits always bring plenty of smiles, and we would love for families to join us and share in this wonderful experience.
Our popular Try It Tuesday sessions will also be celebrating World Chocolate Day, giving residents the chance to sample a variety of delicious chocolate treats. From favourite classics to new flavours, it promises to be a sweet and enjoyable occasion, full of conversation, laughter, and a little indulgence.
Throughout the month, we will continue to enjoy a range of activities, entertainment, and opportunities to spend time together, making the most of the summer season.
We are excited for another month packed with fun, friendship, and new experiences, creating special memories with our residents, families, and friends.

Home Improvements
Over the past month, we have focused on updating the bedrooms to create comfortable, modern, and welcoming spaces. This has included the installation of soft grey wood-effect flooring throughout, along with bespoke, made-to-measure furniture and carefully chosen soft furnishings. We are pleased to say that all the bedrooms – that have been selected in this phase – have now been completed to a high standard and have made a significant improvement to the overall feel of the home.
Following the recent work carried out, the back garden is currently in need of some TLC. While the area has been left a little disrupted, plans are in place to restore and refresh it, and we are confident that this work will be completed soon.
At the front of the property, colourful planting has transformed what was previously a blank canvas into an attractive and welcoming feature. The improvements have enhanced the property’s kerb appeal and have attracted many positive comments. We have also invested in new garden furniture, replacing some older pieces and adding a few new ones, which will help us make the most of our outdoor space in the months ahead.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about our recent updates and improvements. Thank you for your continued interest and support. We look forward to sharing more news and achievements with you in our next newsletter.
Warmest wishes
Woodbine Manor Team
